Eggtronic Announces Next-Gen Universal Charger
Revolutionary and eco-friendly charging technology in one very small package: new universal charger will be available soon to more North American consumers.
Eggtronic, an innovative power electronics company, today announced the expanded North American distribution of its Sirius Universal Laptop Charger, the smallest 65-watt USB Type-C Power Delivery laptop adapter in the world. The expansion will help bring the lightweight, elegant and eco-friendly charger into the homes of more consumers.
“Users will be able to save on their energy costs, reduce clutter and add some Italian design to their homes every time they plug in a charging cable,” Igor Spinella, Eggtronic’s CEO, said. “Business travelers will be able to travel with their tech with ease. We are proud to partner with some of the biggest retailers to expand the reach of our smartly designed product.”
The Sirius Universal Laptop Charger is available at Office Depot, Best Buy Canada and Amazon, and will be sold in several other exclusive retail distributors soon.
With Sirius, Eggtronic has created a powerful charging solution for today’s mobile consumers. The charger is compatible with all major laptops, smartphones, tablets and smart devices and weighs a mere 3.35 ounces, with dimensions of 2.70 by 1.98 by 0.77 inches. The consumer can replace a drawerful of separate chargers for separate devices with just one, slim and versatile Sirius.
Sirius is also an excellent travel companion. Being no larger than a deck of cards, business travelers can replace bulky and heavy AC adaptors and save valuable space in carry-on bags and hand luggage.
Eggtronic engineers achieved this breakthrough in design thanks to their proprietary EcoVoltas technology, making the power conversion module inside Sirius is incredibly power dense. The intelligent charger responds to USB-C devices with the advanced USB Power Delivery output. Automatic smart-detection of different voltages (from 5 to 20 volts) and current (from 0.1 to 3.25 amperes) ensures universal compatibility while achieving fast charging and safe operations.
To build this product, Eggtronic has exploited gallium nitride (GaN) power ICs from Navitas, the El Segundo, California-based inventor and manufacturer of GaNFast technology. Unlike the previous generation of transistors made of slow silicon, Navitas uses speed-optimized GaN semiconductors. GaNFast power ICs thus help shrink the size, weight and cost of the new fast-charging mobile adapters.
Sirius has been carefully designed to follow the strictest international quality standards. It is certified by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF), the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and UL; and complies with the European Union Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS), California Proposition 65, and the U.S. Department of Energy Level VI Energy Efficiency Standard.
In addition to being smaller and lighter than any other competing charger, Sirius leads the industry in superior device charging speed and energy efficiency. The charger boasts a 93% energy conversion rate.
“Sirius is a great example of science meeting art,” said Gene Sheridan, Navitas CEO. “Navitas’ dedicated GaNFast technologists worked alongside Eggtronic’s engineering and industrial design teams to deliver a benchmark-performance fast-charger with elegant design.”
The Sirius Universal Laptop Charger is scheduled to be rolled out via all major personal tech retailers next year.
