COLOR NAMES VS COLOR NUMBERS – BOTH HAVE A PURPOSE – AND SHOES MADE OF ORANGE PEELS?

In another episode of structured color – Shoshana Burgett, founder of Colorkarma, Ryan Stanley, Global Colorist, Materials, and Color Innovation for PVH, and Nikki Hiza, Color and Material Designer for Under Armour discuss color naming.  We discuss the reasons behind a color name and color numbers and where the delineation happens. We share why people name colors, like Pantone Tangerine Tango or Sherwin-Williams Urban Bronze and why their suppliers require their number counterpart. It does not matter if it is a Sherwin-Williams Dill or a Behr Mandarin Orange, or a Pantone Rasberry Sorbet, each has a corresponding number to it. Nikki also shares her design inspirations and some of the shoe design projects she has been working on, including shoes made of orange peels.
