TECHKON ColorCatcher

Capture any color anywhere!

The TECHKON ColorCatcher app turns your iPhone into a color capturing device.

It is a simple and fast way to capture, specify and match a real color with a smartphone.

TECHKON, as a premium supplier of color measurement systems and software solutions brings you a powerful color specifying solution that is fun and easy to use.

ColorCatcher consists of two parts: The ColorCatcher app and the ColorChart which can be ordered at

It is very easy to use:

  1. Download the ColorCatcher app on your iPhone and launch it.
  2. Place the ColorChart card on the sample you want to capture.
  3. The smartphone camera will capture the ColorChart automatically. The exact Lab and sRGB color values and the matching colors of the RAL Classic Color Standard will be displayed.

How it works:

Digital cameras, in particular those integrated into smartphones, are usually not color-confident. This means captured colors will be different depending on the lighting conditions, the distance to the captured object and the camera's settings.

Now with TECHKON GmbH's IP-secured ColorCatcher technology, it is possible to generate accurate color data on mobile devices. The ColorChart contains exact spectral remission data across the entire color gamut. The Color Transformation Engine embedded in the ColorCatcher App calculates the absolute color data. Behind the ColorCatcher technology is the long-term experience of TECHKON GmbH in the field of high-end spectral color measurement.

Use ColorCatcher where exact color information is required and the use of a spectrophotometer would be too complicated: Paint and Varnish, Construction,
Interior Design, Architecture, Beauty, Cosmetics and Apparel.
